Can the glass be microwaved?

1. Sodium-calcium glass: sodium-calcium glass cannot be used in oven or microwave oven.

Sodium-calcium glasses are not particularly resistant to heat and can only withstand a temperature difference of about 60 degrees Celsius. Either rapid heating or rapid cooling can cause the glass to crack.

So don't put regular glasses in the microwave.

2. Tempered glass: tempered glass without homogenization treatment has the risk of self-explosion and injury if used in the oven or microwave oven.

Tempered glass should not be heated in the microwave oven. On the one hand, it contains metal components, which is fragile when heated. On the other hand, when heated, there will be toxins precipitation, which is harmful to health.

3. High borosilicate glass: High borosilicate glass can be heated in the microwave.

Compared with sodium-calcium glass and tempered glass, high borosilicate glass has a small expansion coefficient and a good resistance to high temperature. It can also withstand extreme heat and cold, so it's oven-ready.

So if you want to heat milk and other drinks, you can pour into a borosilicate glass and then put it in the microwave.
